Re:Form: sculpting in a browser tab

Re:Form is a 3D sculpting app that runs in desktop browsers on WebGPU. Current Chrome, Edge, and Firefox work out of the box, and Safari 26 on macOS Tahoe ships WebGPU too. There is nothing to download or install — you open a tab, sign in free, and sculpt. The free plan includes the entire toolset: every brush, sculpt layers, masking, symmetry, one-click remeshing, and undo, with meshes up to about 12.5 million triangles, OBJ import and export, and local .clay saves plus browser autosave. No watermark, no card required. Free is limited to personal, non-commercial use.

Pro is $9.99/month or $99/year (the yearly rate saves about two months) and adds the full 50-million-triangle budget — four times the free limit — plus STL, GLB, and FBX import and export alongside OBJ, and a commercial license so you can sell what you make. Billing runs through Stripe, and cancelling takes a couple of clicks. There is also an Enterprise tier with custom pricing, team licensing, and priority support. Two things to be clear about. Re:Form is desktop-only — it does not run on phones or tablets. And it is v0.6.4 Alpha: the core sculpting loop is fast and solid, but it is not finished software, and it does one job rather than the dozen Blender does. Is Blender good for sculpting?

Yes — Blender is genuinely good for sculpting, not a modeler with a sculpt feature bolted on. Its Sculpt Mode ships a full brush set, dynamic topology, multiresolution detail, voxel remeshing, masking, face sets, and symmetry, and artists complete production-quality characters in it. That is the honest starting point, and it matters, because the interesting question is not "is Blender good" — it plainly is — but "what do you give up by using a browser tool instead, and what do you gain." One note on reading this table fairly. The "Scope" row is the whole story. Blender wins nearly every capability comparison because it is a suite and Re:Form is a single tool — that is not a knock on Re:Form any more than a chef's knife losing to a full kitchen is a knock on the knife. Where does Re:Form win over Blender?

Re:Form wins on friction, focus, and instant access. It opens in a browser tab with nothing to install, sign in free with no card, and you are sculpting in seconds — no download, no version manager, no interface to learn first. Its WebGPU engine keeps strokes smooth as triangle counts climb because the mesh lives on the GPU. For learning, quick concepts, and any machine you don't own, that removes real barriers.
