Re:Form 0.8.8 Alpha is about what happens to a sculpt after the stroke. The studio now remembers how every sculpt was made, a History slider goes back through it, and a share link can play it back to anyone. You can let other people build on a shared sculpt with Remix, put the 3D viewer on your own website, and send finished work to the gallery.

What version is Re:Form on now?

Re:Form is on v0.8.8 Alpha as of October 12, 2026. The release adds the History slider, share links that carry how a sculpt was made, Remix, an embeddable viewer, gallery submissions, project files you can keep on your own computer, and a Free plan limit of 6 million triangles.

To update, reload the page. There is nothing to install, and your saved projects and autosaves carry over. The Terms changed in this release, so you will be asked to accept them the next time you sign in. If you haven't tried Re:Form yet, open the studio in your browser. The Free plan needs only an account, with no card.

What is the History slider in Re:Form?

The History slider is a control in the bar at the bottom of the Re:Form studio that moves back and forward through every step of a sculpt. Drag it left to see the sculpt as it was at an earlier point; drag it back to Now and you are in your sculpt exactly as you left it.

It is always on. From 0.8.8 every stroke and every operation is recorded as you work, and the record is saved beside your project in its own file on each save and autosave. Recording costs nothing you can feel: a long stroke on a 12.6 million triangle mesh measured the same with it on and off.

History is not Undo. Undo takes back your last few steps one at a time. History reaches back through the whole session, and looking changes nothing: while an earlier point is on screen, Save and the autosaves still save your sculpt as it is at Now.

You can also carry on from an earlier point. Sculpt while an earlier point is on screen and Re:Form asks one question, Keep the later work as a separate version? Yes saves everything that came after as its own project; No lets it go. Either way you continue from the point you chose.

How do I share how a sculpt was made?

Switch on Include sculpt history in the Share dialog before you press Share. The link then carries up to 40 moments from the making of the sculpt, and the viewer gets a Play button and a scrub bar.

Whoever opens the link can play the sculpt coming together, stop anywhere, and turn the model at that moment. Each moment is a lighter copy of the sculpt, so the link stays quick to open. The switch is off unless you turn it on, and a share with history still counts as one share.

What is Remix?

Remix lets other people open a sculpt you shared as a new sculpt of their own. Switch on Allow Remix when you share, and the viewer shows a Remix button. It works on every plan, for you and for them.

What happens
What they get The mesh the viewer shows, with its paint colour, as one layer
What they never get Your project: your layers, subdivision levels, masks and settings
Where they start The finished sculpt, or the moment of its history they are looking at
How you are credited What they share from it says Remixed from your title by the credit name you chose, with a link back
How to stop it Delete the link and share again without the switch

Allow Remix is off unless you turn it on, every time you share. A link made without it cannot be remixed.

Can I put a Re:Form sculpt on my own website?

Yes. Every share link has an Embed button, on the Share result and in File ▸ My shares. It copies one line of code. Paste it into a portfolio page or a blog post and the 3D viewer sits there with your sculpt in it.

The embedded viewer lets people turn the sculpt, zoom, go fullscreen and play the history if the link has one. A small Made in Re:Form link opens the share's full page.

Open File ▸ Submit to gallery, pick one of your shares, enter the display name you want beside it, and press Submit. We look at every submission before it appears on the gallery page.

Nothing you make appears in the gallery by itself. Only a share you submit is ever shown, you can withdraw it from the same window at any time, and deleting the share withdraws it too. It works on every plan.

How sharing, history, Remix, embedding and the gallery fit together is in the sharing guide.

What new tools are in 0.8.8?

A round of sculpting tools landed alongside the history work. Each one is a menu item or a button, with one Undo to take it back.

  • Booleans. Tools ▸ Boolean makes a Union, Subtract or Intersect of the active layer and another layer, through the Remesh, so the result is one watertight solid.
  • Array. Tools ▸ Array copies a layer in a row or in a ring around an axis, as one layer or as separate layers.
  • Reshape and Surface noise. Tools ▸ Reshape bends, twists, tapers, flares and stretches a layer. Tools ▸ Surface noise roughens it with a pattern you control by Scale, Strength and Seed. The mask protects what is masked in both.
  • Radial symmetry. In the Symmetry section, Radial lays every stroke 2 to 64 times around an axis, and works together with Symmetry X, Y and Z.
  • New brushes and stroke types. Snake Hook pulls the surface along the drag into horns and spikes. Morph paints a stored shape back. Scatter strews dabs of random size, and Curve lays a stroke along a curve with corners you drop.
  • A mesh along a curve. In Blockout, Build: Mesh dresses a curve with copies of a sphere, box, cylinder, cone or another layer: chains, beads, cables, stitches. The curve stays editable and the copies follow.
  • 3D printing. Tools ▸ Print check reports whether a layer is closed, its size in millimetres, open borders, flipped faces and thin walls. Tools ▸ Hollow turns a layer into a shell with a wall in millimetres and drain holes at the bottom.
  • Three lights. Lit shading has a fill light and a rim light beside the key light, each with its own colour.
  • GLB keeps its colours. Importing a GLB with vertex colours brings them in as paint.

What else changed in 0.8.8?

  • Project files on your computer. File ▸ Download project file saves the open project as a .clay file, and File ▸ Open project file opens one back as a new sculpt. Every plan.
  • Free plan: 6 million triangles. The Free limit goes up from 4 million to 6 million. It now also applies when layers are merged.
  • Share your renders. Where your browser can share a file, the Render image, Render turntable and Export timelapse results have a Share button that opens your device's share sheet. Nothing is uploaded.
  • The turntable preview turns. While a turntable renders, its preview now shows each frame as it is made.
  • Open meshes subdivide on the GPU. A mesh with an open border, such as a Plane, now subdivides as fast as a closed one and keeps its border as a clean curve.
  • Trim with Ctrl builds over corners. Holding Ctrl with Trim no longer leaves the old edge showing through the added material.
  • The gizmo moves only the active layer. With Symmetry on, a gizmo move no longer moves a matching piece on another layer.
  • Symmetry section. The gizmo's Axes, Origin and Reset buttons now live in the Symmetry section of the panel.
  • Mesh Sets grid on small pieces. The grid no longer disappears on a small piece split off a larger layer.

What should I know before relying on it?

  • History reaches as far as its size limit. The history file can be half your plan's project size. Past that, it starts again from the sculpt as it is at that moment. Your sculpt is not affected, only how far back the slider reaches.
  • Coming back to Now clears Undo. After looking at an earlier point, the steps before it can no longer be undone one by one. Use History to reach them.
  • Operations that rebuild the mesh are stored as copies. Remesh, Reflow, Decimate, a Clip cut and layer merges are kept as a copy of the project after them, which is what makes the history larger on big projects.
  • A remix cannot be recalled. Deleting a share stops new copies being made; it cannot reach copies people have already made.
  • Gallery submissions are reviewed by hand. A submission may wait a little while before it appears.

FAQ

Is the History slider on the Free plan?

Yes. The History slider is on every plan in Re:Form 0.8.8, and it is always on: there is no setting to switch it on. The history file's size limit is half your plan's project size, so Pro reaches further back on large projects.

Does Remix give other people my project file?

No. Remix in Re:Form gives people the mesh the viewer shows, with its paint colour, as a single layer. Your project, with its layers, subdivision levels, masks and settings, stays with you, and nothing they do changes your sculpt or your link.

No. A sculpt appears in the Re:Form gallery only if you submit one of your own shares with File ▸ Submit to gallery, and only after it has been looked at. You can withdraw it at any time.
